{Guest Blog} Yellow-licious : Ideas For Sunflower Fields

Hello everyone, I am enjoying both the spring showers and the beautiful spring days we've been having lately and hope you are as well. With spring in full bloom, I have gotten many creative ideas as well as a NEW champ paint color from Vintage and Restore BY K. Keep reading to find out the lovely color and what I chose to do with it and how you can make cute antique-looking pieces while sticking to a tight budget.

So this month you guys the chalk paint color I had the pleasure of using was "Sunflower Fields." This color is the prefect shade of yellow to incorporate with any furniture piece or decor piece in spring or fall! I chose to use this color for decor pieces, mainly because this color looks excellent when put on display.  It's one of those colors you must "show off."

I took this color and painted two glass vases(found at Target for $5 each score!) and two mason jars($1 each at local craft store). When panting on glass with chalk paint be tedious with it applying a light coat and then adding several more coats to your desired thickness. I then took a piece of sand paper and lightly sanded each glass piece. This was the result I got after finishing the glass vases:

And here is what the mason jars looked like finished:

They all turned out super cute and I love displaying them on old wooden furniture pieces I have around the house. I added some twine, burlap ribbon and cute burlap flowers to add a cute farmhouse look to them all.

I also made a sign this month using "Sunflower Fields, " because why not! With a color this gorgeous it is hard to not want to use it for every project you do.

            And here it is!!!:

I love this sign. The back lettering really stands out on this beautiful shade of yellow! If you want to purchase "Sunflower Fields" for your home refurbishing, head over to Vintage and Restore By K's website and be sure to snag some!
